Middle Police Announce Criminal Justice Internship Program

By Press Release

COURT HOUSE– Chief of Police Christopher M. Leusner and Professor Tom Innocente from Atlantic Cape Community College have announced a joint partnership to initiate an internship program.
Beginning in the Fall Semester of 2010, two interns will work at the Middle Township Police Department. Their duties will include administrative and support tasks that range from auditing property/evidence, filing training records, data entry, and other miscellaneous tasks.
Chief Leusner states, “We are constantly looking for ways to increase efficiency in achieving our mission, and this program allows us to do just that”.
Interns will be required to work 136 hours per semester in order to receive credit. The students chosen are within a few credits of receiving their Associates Degree in Criminal Justice.
Professor Innocente, a retired New Jersey State Trooper, states, “It is a win-win situation any time we can connect our students with professional law enforcement agencies through internships”.
