COURT HOUSE – Middle Township planning and zoning boards took actions last week that will pave the way for two Dollar General stores in the municipality.
Those stores will be located at 1616 Route 9 North, Swainton, north of Avalon Boulevard, and at 1263 Route 9 South, Burleigh, on the northwest corner of Route 9 and North Wildwood Boulevard intersection. With the addition of the two, Dollar General will have four stores in Cape May County. The others are located on Bayshore Road, North Cape May and the Wildwood Boardwalk.
According to two legal notices printed in this week’s Herald, Middle Planning Board Feb. 11 approved an application for final major site plan approval made by Dearborn Land Investment, LLC of Trenton for the Swainton site.
The application permits development of a retail sales use (proposed Dollar General Store) with parking area, signage and related site improvements on the property. The property is located in the VC (Village Commercial) Zoning District where retail sales are a permitted use.
Middle Zoning Board of Adjustment gave its approval Feb. 13 for a final major site plan for the same applicant at the Burleigh site.
The application as approved permits development of a retail sales use (proposed Dollar General Store) with parking area, signage and related site improvements) at the property.
Documents pertaining to both have been filed and are available for public inspection at the Zoning Office, 10 S. Boyd St., or at the Municipal Clerk’s office, 33 Mechanic St., Court House during regular business hours, which are typically 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday thru Friday.
