On Tuesday, May 11, the Cape May County Police Academy and the Cape May County Chiefs of Police will be holding a memorial service at the County Public Safety Training Center in Crest Haven for the police officers killed in the line of duty in Cape May County.
Invited speakers at the Memorial Service include Congressman Frank LoBiondo, State Senator Jeff Van Drew, Assemblymen Nelson Albano, and Matt Milam, Freeholder Director Daniel Beyel, Freeholder Ralph E. Sheets, Jr., Sheriff Gary Schaffer and Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor.
“Every one of us — regardless of our profession or station in life — recognizes that there is no greater purpose in life than serving and protecting one’s community,’ said Freeholder Ralph Sheets. “And there is no greater honor than having the courage to sacrifice one’s life in fulfilling this purpose.”
