AVALON – Avalon Borough Council Nov. 8 decided that more consideration was needed before the municipality could move ahead on an ordinance that would have prohibited the sale of ice cream from vendor trucks on streets. An ordinance was introduced which would have banned the trucks and substituted quiet selling of ice cream on the beaches during the summer. Objections from vendors and some residents led the borough to remove the draft ordinance from consideration. A meeting with vendors will be arranged to try to seek a solution to noise complaints from residents and safety concerns at street ends near beach access points.
