CREST HAVEN – Two medical all-terrain-vehicles, purchased by the county with Homeland Security and Federal Emergency Management Agency funds, will be housed in Avalon and Cape May.
Freeholders approved a resolution June 28 noting that the medical ATVs “outfitted for emergency medical use” would be accessible to all municipalities.
Both municipalities approved resolutions early in June agreeing to the arrangement. The length of the agreement extends from May 1, 2016, until April 30, 2017. Both parties have options to renew the agreements.
In other action the board:
Established an “all-way” stop at the intersection of Shell Bay Avenue (CR 674) and Golf Club Road and Bayberry Drive, Middle Township. After the overpass on Garden State Parkway had been completed, the intersection was temporarily an all-way stop. Signs have been posted so there is no doubt that stops are mandatory.
Reappointed Thomas C. Whittington of South Seaville and Nancy Delp of West Cape May as members of the Cape May County Special Services School District for three years, until June 30, 2019.
Amended its prior meeting’s resolution to increase to $76,500 from $75,600 a commercial fishing revolving loan to Stormy Day Oyster Co., LLC.
Approved a temporary license agreement between the county and the Cape May County Zoological Society Inc. to lease concessions at the County Park and Zoo through the present tourist season, until Nov. 1, 2016.
The resolution noted the parties would continue to evaluate their relationship and consider a longer-term renewal.
To smooth county road bumps, a contract was awarded to Brian Hoskins Ford of Coatesville, Pa. for $141,000 to purchase a diesel truck with mounted hot patch unit.
Applications for appraisals of two proposed parcels for the Open Space program were accepted from Timothy Axelsson, 40 acres on Swainton-Goshen Road and of Sandra Steinberg Brown for a parcel of 12,968 square feet at 707 Lighthouse Ave., Cape May Point.
The aim is to determine fair market value of both parcels.
A third modification was approved to a contract with Stantec Consulting Services for engineering services for roadway and infrastructure upgrades at the County Airport in Erma. The extra work amounts to $197,966.
