NORTH WILDWOOD – City Council authorized Mayor Patrick Rosenello to call the shots on what will reopen and when, and to “extend COVID-19 restrictions as necessary.”
Several restrictions were scheduled to be lifted May 1, which was a reason for the decision. Council isn’t scheduled to reconvene until May 5. It is expected that Rosenello will extend the current restrictions at least until mid-May. North Wildwood has already extended restrictions for short-term rentals, parks, playgrounds, and the beach through May 7.
Rosenello said the other reason for the appointment is so North Wildwood stays consistent with Wildwood, and the two cities’ governing bodies usually meet on opposite weeks.
“This thing is changing daily, let alone weekly or bi-weekly,” Rosenello said, adding he plans to reevaluate the restrictions every two weeks.
