WILDWOOD CREST – Mayor Don Cabrera wishes residents to be aware of the broader vision of the single liquor consumption license referendum.
Although the referendum may not happen in 2019, Cabrera said, he wishes the public to understand three key points:
* The license will not entail “a bar on every corner” or beach bars.
* The license would only apply to the borough’s commercial/restaurant district.
* If the referendum passed, commissioners would place additional restrictions.
Cabrera said the license would tie in with the New Jersey Avenue Redevelopment Project, a joint venture between the borough and Cape May County.
A presentation about the project would be presented, said Cabrera. The mayor said he does not want misinformation regarding the referendum.
