WILDWOOD CREST – Wedding bells may cost more if an amendment to an existing ordinance is passed.
Borough Commissioners introduced the amendment Dec. 11 and, according to the ordinance, “persons seeking to be married or joined in civil union by the mayor or deputy mayor… shall remit to the Borough of Wildwood Crest a fee of $300.”
The previous amount was $250, including a $50 administrative fee. The ordinances reads: $25 “shall be considered refundable.”
According to the amendment, if the ceremony is cancelled, the “submitting party shall be entitled to a refund of $275… no less than 48 hours prior to the scheduled event.” The amendment is expected to be presented upon second reading at the Jan. 8 meeting.
