COURT HOUSE — The Middle Township Committee announced the promotion of Marilyn Miller to the position of Director of the Samuel DeVico Senior Center located on West Romney Place in Cape May Court House.
Miller is entering her ninth year as an employee of Middle Township. She began her career with the Township as an activities coordinator under the previous Center director, Catherine Murphy. For the past five years, Miller has assumed the Director’s responsibilities while at the same time expanding the Center’s activities, membership, and visibility in the community.
Miller will continue to place her focus on promoting the mission of the Middle Township Senior Center which is to provide a safe, harmonious, and comfortable environment that affords the older adult and opportunity to engage in fellowship with their peers while partaking in any or all of the Center’s many activities and functions. The activities are designed to promote mental stimulation, socialization, and physical fitness.
Middle Township Committeewoman Susan Atkinson DeLanzo serves as the committee member who oversees the Samuel DeVico Senior Center.
“Marilyn has elevated the services and scope of the Senior Center by hosting health fairs, educational seminars on nutrition, financial information, prescription safety and health care services,” DeLanzo said. “Marilyn’s networking with other organizations has provided our senior population with a valuable source of information.”
