CAPE MAY — Cape May Mayor Edward J. Mahaney, Jr. was unanimously elected to serve as Secretary on the Executive Committee of Sustainable Jersey Board of Trustees. Mahaney sits on the committee with four other representatives, including President Richard Dovey of the Atlantic County Utilities Authority, Vice Chairperson Anne-Marie Peracchio of NJ Natural Gas, Treasurer Caroline Ehrlich of Woodbridge Township and Governance Chairperson Jane Kenny of The Whitman Strategy Group.
Mahaney has been a member of the Board of Trustees and has served with Sustainable Jersey since 2013. The board oversees the work of the non-profit organization Sustainable Jersey which includes the municipal Sustainable Jersey certification program and the Sustainable Jersey for Schools certification program.
“With a focus on sustainability, Mayor Mahaney brings over 35 years of experience in government administration at the state, federal and municipal levels. He adds a valuable perspective to our Board of Trustees,” said Donna Drewes who co-directs Sustainable Jersey with Randall Solomon. “We appreciate his willingness to serve in a new role on the Executive Committee and look forward to benefitting from his judgment and counsel.”
