WILDWOOD – The Wildwoods Convention Center’s Director of Sales and Entertainment, John Lynch, has been honored with the Corporation for National and Community Service Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by President Donald J. Trump.
This Lifetime Achievement Award is a special component of the president’s Volunteer Service Award. It honors those who complete more than 4,000 hours of service over the course of their lifetime. Those accepting the award ensure the continuation of America’s unparalleled commitment to improving the lives of others.
Bill Oakley, past state exalted leader of the New Jersey State Elks Association, nominated Lynch for his outstanding service and leadership in the community over the years.
“I am truly honored to be given this prestigious award from the Office of the President of the United States,” stated Lynch in a release.
“Having the opportunity to support our community is very important to me. Working for the Wildwoods Convention Center allows me the opportunity to help generate over $50 million in economic impact to our local business community while at the same time being able to focus on my philanthropic efforts for the youth of our community in my private life. Both are very rewarding.”
Over the past 29 years, Lynch has served the Wildwoods community and has been an active part in its economic impact.
In 2007, Lynch founded the Lunch with Lynch Foundation, a local charitable foundation built on the desire to enrich the lives of children in the greater Wildwood community through education opportunities in and out of the classroom environment.
The foundation’s fundraising opportunities are centered on instilling strong values into the youth and provide a space for them to expand their minds while meeting new and interesting individuals.
Lynch sees firsthand the importance in educating and supporting the youth in the surrounding community. “It’s our responsibility to help mold the minds of our youth and instill solid work ethics and a sense of pride that make them better Americans as they will grow to be tomorrow leaders.”
Along with the Lunch with Lynch Foundation, Lynch is also a member of Cape May County Special Services Educational Foundation, Wildwood Public Schools Career and Technical Education Advisory Committee and was the past president of the United Way of Cape May County, past president of the Greater Wildwood Optimist club and a 10 year member of the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors along with numerous other charitable organizations, their causes and programs.
