ERMA – Lower Township Police L.E.A.D. Officers Eric Coombs and Jennifer Anzelone attended the Third Annual 21st Century Drug & Violence Prevention Training Conference and Marijuana Symposium March 18-20 hosted by Law Enforcement Against Drugs (L.E.A.D.), On the Street and in the Classroom, according to a release.
The L.E.A.D. vision is to create safer, healthier communities free of drugs, bullying, and violence. Its mission is to provide the leadership, resources, and management to ensure law enforcement agencies have the means to partner with educators, community leaders, and families.
It provides programs to deter youth and adults from drug use, drug-related crimes, bullying, and violence.
L.E.A.D. is committed to reinforcing the mutual respect, goodwill, and relations between law enforcement and their communities.
Coombs and Anzelone attended multiple training sessions.:
Chief William Mastriana authorized the new Lower Township L.E.A.D. car to be displayed on the Harrah’s Resort Convention Center floor for the duration of the conference.
Mastriana is a supporter of community policing and the L.E.A.D program, which is taught as part of Lower Township’s sixth-grade curriculum.
