VILLAS — The Lower Township Police Department proudly welcomes the addition of 2 Full Time Police Officers who will take the Oath of Office at the Lower Township Council Meeting on Jan. 20, 2016 at 7:00 p.m.
The officers, who were a part of the 39th Municipal Class, have successfully completed 22 weeks of residential training at the Cape May County Police Academy and have earned the distinction of being a Patrolman with the Lower Township Police Department.
Each officer must now complete at least 4 months of Field Training with a designated Field Training Officer (FTO).
The FTO will further guide and instruct the new officers in applying what they learned in the police academy to real life situations. They will be carefully monitored and evaluated by their FTO on a daily basis.
After completion of Field Training, the officers will be assigned to a patrol squad where they will be closely mentored by a Patrol Sergeant during a one year probationary period.
This vigorous training and monitoring is critical to producing the finest officers the citizens of Lower Township deserve.
The new officers listed by seniority are:
Patrolman Kyle Boyle #203, 24 years of age, graduate of LCMR High School Class of 2009. Prior to being hired as a Full Time Police Officer with the Lower Township Police Department, Ptlm Boyle served as a Senior Corrections Officer with Bayside State Prison from 2013 until 2015.
