Lower Township Police Officer Recognized for Leading County in DWI Arrests

By Press Release

ERMA — On April 8, Lower Township Police Chief Edward Donohue was informed by the
New Jersey Attorney Generals Office that Officer Jennifer Anzelone was the Cape May
County leader in Drunk Driving Arrests for the year 2010.
Officer Anzelone and Chief Donohue have been invited to attend the “New Jersey
Remembers” event on April 27th at the Trenton War Memorial.
This event is intended to bring further awareness to the tragedies associated with
impaired driving and to commemorate the lives lost as a result of an impaired driver.
The event will include a precession where family members will carry photographs of
their loved one they have lost, along with a candle.
Both the candle and photographs
will be placed on a table, where they will be displayed throughout the hour long
ceremony, which will also include remarks from invited Law Enforcement and Traffic
Safety Officials.
Lower Township Police Officer Jennifer Anzelone will be an escort in the precession as
well as a recipient of a framed certificate to be presented following the event by the New
Jersey Attorney General.
Chief Donohue praised Officer Anzelone for her efforts in keeping Lower Township
streets safe for our residents and visitors.
Chief Donohue also noted that this is the second time that Officer Anzelone has been
recognized for leading Cape May County in DWI arrests.
Officer Anzelone arrested 15 drivers for operating a vehicle while intoxicated in 2010.
Chief Donohue noted that the many State and Federal programs that educate the public
on the dangers of Driving while intoxicated and fund Law Enforcement action to combat
drunk driving is paying off with many Police Departments actually seeing a decrease in
drunk driving incidents.
“However there are still far too many injuries and fatalities caused by drunk drivers we
still have a long way to go to bring these numbers down even further” Donohue stated.
