VILLAS- Lower Township is seeking an AtlantiCare paramedic to be stationed in the township.
Lower Township is the largest community in Cape May County with the highest population of senior residents.
According to Township Manager Michael Voll, township officials recently met with heads of the AtlantiCare about stationing a Medic Unit with Paramedics in Lower Township.
There are two stations in Cape May County, one in North Wildwood, the other in Cape May Court House.
According to Voll, Lower Township Council feels township residents deserve a unit in the township to work with Lower Township Rescue Squad.
Last week, township officials discussed the possibility of getting a unit before the summer season with Lou Raniszewski, Acting Director of Emergency Medical Services.
Raniszewsk said he needed some time to work on the request.
“If just one life is saved as a result of having the Medic Unit closer – it makes our efforts well worth it”. We deserve a unit in our township, and will keep pursuing until we are successful,” said Voll.
