Lower Preps for Future Snows

LT Logo

By Jim McCarty

VILLAS – Lower Township Council heard the voices of some snowed-in Lower residents last week. Those residents were not pleased with the speed of the recovery and plowing effort after the Jan. 4 blizzard that left many secondary roads impassable for days. Councilman David Perry noted that his street was one of the last to be plowed, and he understands the feelings of residents. Township Administrator James Ridgway announced that the municipality is considering issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) to identify a “back-up” contractor for the Public Works Department. That contractor would be called in for significant storm recovery work, including plowing, in cases of future extreme snow events.
