Lower Police Tell of Week’s Incidents: Fatal Crash, Domestics

ERMA — During the week of Jan. 13-19, Lower Township Police handled 812 calls for an average of over 116 calls per day.
Jan. 13:
Domestic violence call received at 12:20 p.m. reporting domestic violence in the 100 block East Delaware Parkway, Villas, rights were given.
Motor vehicle accident reported at 1:48 p.m. at Broadway Avenue and Fourth Avenue, Villas.
Report of hit and run motor vehicle accident at 5:17 p.m in the 100 block Roseanne Avenue, North Cape May.
Report of vehicle striking a pedestrian motor vehicle accident at 9:40 p.m in the 100 block of Arbor Avenue, further investigation revealed a domestic incident.
Domestic violence call received at 9:44 p.m reported violation of temporary restraining order in the 100 block Iowa Avenue, Villas.
Criminal mischief reported at 11:27 p.m in the first block of Taylor Lane, Cold Spring. Vehicle shot with BB gun, investigation continues.
Domestic violence call received at 11:41 p.m reporting domestic violence in the first block of Arbor Avenue, Villas, temporary restraining order issued and served.
Jan. 14:
Burglary complaint reported at 9:29 a.m. in the 500 block Washington Boulevard, North Cape May. Items were taken from an unsecured construction site, investigation continues.
Motor vehicle accident reported at 3:36 p.m. the 3000 block Bayshore Road, North Cape May.
Harassment complaint reported at 5:08 p.m. to the Lower Township Police Department. Charges filed by citizen.
Harassment complaint reported at 5:25 p.m. in the 100 block of Race Track Drive, Town Bank. Ongoing verbal harassment reported and documented.
Jan. 15:
Criminal mischief reported at 12:23 a.m. in the 400 block Second Avenue, Town Bank. Vehicle’s paint scratched with various profanities. Charges filed by citizen.
Burglary and theft reported at 8:09 a.m. in the 700 block Seashore Road, Erma. Miscellaneous scrap metal taken from enclosed area, investigation continues.
Jan. 16:
A driving while intoxicated arrest was made at 11:06 p.m. in the first block of Bentz Avenue, Villas. Individual was also involved in motor vehicle accident.
A driving while intoxicated arrest was made at 10:02 p.m. at Bayshore Road and Breakwater Road, Fishing Creek.
Jan. 17:
Domestic violence call received at 2:42 a.m. reporting domestic violence in the 3000 block Bayshore Road, North Cape May, rights were given.
Warrant arrest at 3:12 p.m. in the first block of Bentz Avenue, subject was lodged at the county jail.
Fire reported at 3:10 p.m. in the 200 block of Rose Lane in the Villas. Fire on exterior of building is under investigation.
Harassment complaint reported at 6:04 p.m. in the 100 block Oregon Avenue, Villas. Ongoing harassment between tenant and landlord, no complaints filed.
Warrant arrest at 10:43 p.m. in the 3000 block of Bayshore Road, North Cape May, subject lodged in the county jail.
Jan. 18:
Domestic violence complaint with an assault received at 2:51 a.m. in the 700 block Caspian Avenue, North Cape May. Suspect charged with assault and resisting arrest and lodged in the county jail.
Fatal single car motor vehicle accident reported at 4:20 a.m. at Bayshore Road and Lincoln Boulevard, North Cape May.
Missing person reported at 11:47 a.m. in the 100 block West Miami Avenue, Villas. Subject was located at a motel in Rio Grande, Middle Township.
Theft of scrap metal reported at 1:20 p.m. in the 100 block Carolina Avenue, Villas, investigation continues.
Motor vehicle accident reported at 2:31 p.m. in the first block Ibis Place, North Cape May. Driver stuck leg between vehicle and garage door. Transported to hospital by rescue.
A driving while intoxicated arrest was made at 11:36 p.m. on States and Oregon avenues, Villas.
Warrant arrest at 5:45 p.m. in the 300 block Townbank Road, North Cape May, subject lodged in the county jail.
Jan. 19:
Domestic violence complaint received at 4:03 a.m. in the 800 block Tower View Road, Erma, rights were given.
Domestic violence complaint received at 5:34 p.m. in the 900 block Shirley Avenue, Erma, rights were given.
