Lower Police Respond to 3,000 Calls in July

ERMA — Lower Township Police Chief Edward Donohue reported that police officers responded to
over 3,000 calls for service in July while arresting 52 adults for various violations.
Incidents in July included:
101 Disorderly calls
55 Criminal Mischief Calls
51 Thefts
156 Emergency Medical calls with the Lower Township Rescue Squad
56 Fire Alarm calls with the Township’s three (3) fire departments
35 Domestic Violence calls
08 Domestic Violence with assault calls
04 Simple Assaults
01 Robbery
In addition, Lower Township Police officers responded to 64 motor vehicle accidents on
township roadways in July while conducting 476 motor vehicle stops and issuing 142 traffic
summonses along with 40 traffic warning complaints.
Officers conducted 825 property checks while responding to 74 residential and commercial
alarms.
Officers arrested eight persons for driving while intoxicated, six persons for possession
of drugs. Three juveniles were arrested while officers completed 106 investigation reports for
the month.
One police officer was assaulted in the line of duty during the month of July.
