Lower Hires Engineer for Field Upgrades

VILLAS – Lower Township Council approved a resolution at the Dec. 17 meeting to hire Mott MacDonald for landscape architecture and engineering services for renovations at Mulligan Field in Villas.
The work would include plans for fencing, a new ADA -compliant field house and food stand, a multi-purpose field for baseball, softball and soccer and the relocation of the street hockey rink, along with other landscape improvements and sports lighting.
The township is seeking county Open Space and state Small Cities grants to pay for the project.
Lower Township Manager James Ridgway said the plans should be ready in about one month.
The contract with Mott MacDonald will cost the township $34,150.
