COURT HOUSE – Middle Township resident Ed Dillio has frequently used the public comment portion of Township Committee meetings to urge committee to put its sixth retail liquor license in play to gauge the interest of major restaurant chains in considering a location in Middle Township.
A municipality’s population limits plenary retail consumption liquor licenses. Middle earned the sixth license following the last U.S. census.
At a recent meeting, Mayor Michael Clark suggested Dillio explore the options. The all-in-fun remark by the mayor led Dillio to do just that. At the Nov. 5 meeting of committee, Dillio announced that he had developed a list of 22 major restaurant chains to which he intends to send a letter he composed inviting those chains to consider Middle Township as a location, and pointed out that a retail liquor license is available.
Dillio hopes that his effort lands a Texas Road House.
