AVALON — The Borough of Avalon honored a longtime member of the Borough’s recreation department on Aug. 30. The Borough recognized Fred Bock for his 30 years of service to the department during a luncheon at Avalon Community Hall.
“Fred Bock has been a fixture of the Avalon Department of Recreation for three decades, and he will be missed”, said Avalon Mayor Martin Pagliughi. “As an employee and manager of the department, Fred’s efforts have helped with the planning and implementation of countless special events in our community”.
During the luncheon Mayor Pagliughi presented Bock with an official proclamation from the Mayor’s office thanking him for his longtime service.
Bock was responsible for the coordination of coaches, teams, uniforms, equipment, game schedules, and officials for many organized sports activities throughout each year.
