WASHINGTON, D.C. — Committed to promoting and protecting South Jersey’s manufacturing base, U.S. Representative Frank A. LoBiondo (NJ-02) was awarded the “Manufacturing Legislative Excellence” award from the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM). NAM is the largest manufacturing association in the United States, representing small and large manufacturers in every industrial sector and in all 50 states.
“The decline in our manufacturing base has severely impacted South Jersey communities and those across our great nation. Unfortunately, misguided policies and excessive regulations coming from Washington are creating challenges, not opportunities, for our manufacturers that then hinder the economic recovery,” said LoBiondo. “I remain committed to pro-growth policies that will encourage manufacturing to grow again in our country, bringing with it innovation and new jobs.”
Members of Congress who supported the manufacturing community during the 114th Congress (2015–2016) and maintained a voting record of 70 percent or higher received the NAM Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence. Key votes included in the Voting Record are selected by small, medium and large manufacturing executives who serve on the NAM’s Key Vote Advisory Committee. LoBiondo scored 80 percent in this Congress.
“Manufacturers in New Jersey and throughout the United States are leading an innovation revolution, creating jobs, making more products and making them better than ever before,” said NAM Senior Vice President of Policy and Government Relations Aric Newhouse. “However, manufacturers are often disproportionately and adversely impacted by decisions made by policy and lawmakers. The NAM is proud to stand with lawmakers like Rep. LoBiondo understand what is at stake and seek to implement policies that will energize the manufacturing economy.”
The NAM is the voice of the manufacturing community and the leading advocate for a policy agenda that helps manufacturers compete in the global economy and create jobs across the United States. For more information about the NAM, visit www.nam.org.
