WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Representative Frank A. LoBiondo (NJ-02) this week received the “Guardian of Small Business” award by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) for his strong voting record on critical business issues in the 114th Congress. NFIB President and CEO Juanita Duggan presented LoBiondo with the award at a ceremony on Capitol Hill.
“I am pleased to accept NFIB’s ‘Guardian of Small Business’ award and honored to work with their members in strengthening our local and national economy,” said LoBiondo. “Especially in communities across South Jersey, small businesses are the engine of our economy and require those of us in Congress to put forth policies that will promote hiring, growth and their success. I remain committed to working with NFIB and its South Jersey members to ensure our stability and certainty in our economy and to get people back to work.”
NFIB’s “Guardian of Small Business” award is given each Congress based on rankings given for key business votes. Those members of Congress who support NFIB’s position on at least 70% of those votes receive the award. LoBiondo compiled a 93% score with NFIB for the 114th Congress.
“Many elected officials claim that they are champions of small business, but our Guardian Award shows our members and other small business owners who is really fighting for them,” said NFIB President and CEO Juanita Duggan. “Based on his voting record, Rep. LoBiondo is one of the most reliable advocates for small business in Washington.”
NFIB is the leading small business association representing small and independent businesses. A nonprofit, nonpartisan organization founded in 1943, NFIB represents the consensus views of its members in Washington and all 50 state capitals. There are over 6,000 NFIB members in New Jersey.
