WEST WILDWOOD ─ “It’s terrible,” said Mayor Christopher Fox during the Sept. 1 commissioners’ meeting.
In lieu of the upcoming holiday weekend, borough officials held the regular meeting at 9 a.m. instead of the traditional, evening time that would have been on Sept. 2.
After the flag salute and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, Fox commented on the recent controversy concerning National Football League players not standing for the national anthem.
Two resolutions went before commissioners:
The first authorized a “shared services agreement with the City of Wildwood” for law enforcement support at events.
The second authorized a “closed executive session.” Borough Clerk Donna Frederick read an added item that authorized the refund of dumpster fees.
With no ordinances, commissioners’ reports, or public comment, the meeting adjourned.
After the meeting, Borough Administrator Chris Ridings told the Herald his expectations for the upcoming meetings in October and November before the Nov. 8 election day. “Will be something,” said Ridings.
