Legislators to Vote Cutting Legal Ads from Newspapers

By Other News Source

TRENTON – A bill, if approved, would allow government agencies to post legal notices on their websites instead of in newspapers, The Press of Atlantic City reports.
The bill, which opponents claim would limit government transparency, is set for a vote Monday (Dec. 19) in the state Assembly at 1 p.m. and Senate at 2 p.m.
If approved, it would go to Gov. Chris Christie, who supports the bill.
If Christie signs the bill into law, New Jersey would be the first state to remove the requirement that government legal notices be published in newspapers, the report continued.
