WILDWOOD — The Cape May County Long Term Recovery Group (LTRG) will sponsor a legal aid presentation for Hurricane Sandy victims on March 27 at the Cape Assist office located at 3819 New Jersey Avenue, Wildwood, N.J. Registration starts at 4:30 and light refreshments will be available.
The Community Health Law Project will present an overview of the issues that have impacted Hurricane Sandy victims. Areas that will be covered are: landlord tenant issues, faulty work by contractors arising from Hurricane Sandy, tax appeals and information about grants and other resources that still may be available to residents.
The Community Health Law Project is a private non-profit agency that has received a grant from the NJ Department of Human Services to provide legal assistance and case management services to those impacted by the storm. There is no income restriction and all services are free. Rachel Ianieri will be presenting on March 27th. Individual appointments may also be made with Ms. Ianieri at the session.
The Cape May County LTRG is a coalition of community leaders and agencies who have joined together to assist eligible Cape May County residents to return their homes to a safe and habitable condition. The LTRG receives funds from the United Way, The American Red Cross, the Robin Hood Foundation, the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund, the United Church of Christ and the Church World Service to assist in the rebuilding of homes. Members of the LTRG will also be present at the session to provide additional information.
