SEA ISLE CITY – On April 13, hundreds of youngsters (up to age 11) from Sea Isle City and several neighboring communities enjoyed an afternoon filled with kid-friendly activities, games and seasonal treats during Sea Isle’s annual Easter Program at the Dealy Field Recreation Complex. This free event, which is hosted by the resort’s Recreation Department, is always a big attraction for families – and this year was certainly no exception. According to organizers, the 2011 Easter Program was the most well-attended in recent memory.
As children entered Dealy Field’s Play-By-The-Bay Playground, they were greeted by the Easter Bunny, who was happy to give-away hugs and high-fives before posing for photos. Kids then enjoyed having their faces painted and receiving temporary tattoos. Next, youngsters were divided into age groups for several exciting egg hunts, which had them scrambling for colorful eggs and other treats. Afterwards, the children enjoyed “Bunny Hop” sack races, with prizes going to each winner. Then, when the children were done hopping, their parents were invited to participate in an adult sack race, which had many on-lookers laughing and cheering.
At the end of the Easter Program, each child left Dealy Field with their Easter baskets containing many treats and their parent’s cameras containing many happy memories.
