PETERSBURG – Upper Township Deputy Mayor Edward Barr briefed Upper Township Committee March 12 on a county proposal that would affect Commonwealth Avenue in Strathmere, and is expected to be completed by summer.
“We are looking at changing the lanes to improve pedestrian safety and parking options. We don’t know what Sea Isle is doing on their side of Commonwealth, but this proposal sounds like it could help those walking along this busy road,” said Barr. Next step would be input from the public to relay to the county engineer as Commonwealth is a road under county jurisdiction.
