TRENTON – Assemblyman Bruce Land (D-1st) issued the following statement Jan. 28 on legislation (A-3869) he has sponsored to provide funding critical to continuing expansion and development of tourism opportunities in the Wildwoods area in Cape May County:
“The Wildwoods have been a longtime summer destination for many families in New Jersey and all across the east coast. This bill would help to support the Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority in their ongoing efforts to ensure Wildwoods continue to remain a vacation and tourism hotspot for all in the coming years.
“Wildwoods’ businesses brought in $33 million in state and local taxes in 2015. It may be time to re-invest some of those tax dollars back into the area because an investment into the Wildwoods in Cape May County would benefit the entire state tourism economy.”
