Land, Milam Bill Lets Government Home Health Agencies Partner with Non-government Providers to Deliver Services, Heads to Governor

Assemblyman Bruce Land (D-1st)

By Press Release

TRENTON – A bill that would allow a county or municipal government that is the licensed operator of a home health agency to contract with a non-government entity licensed as a home health agency to provide direct services, administration, and financial services on behalf of the government home health agency was recently approved 76-0-0 by the full Assembly. It heads to the governor’s desk for consideration.
According to a release, the bill (A-3207) stipulates that the government home health agency would still maintain ultimate control over key governing responsibilities. The measure is sponsored by Assembly Democrats R. Bruce Land and Matthew Milam (D-Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland) who released the following joint statement:
“Ultimately, patients are at the heart of this legislation. By allowing government operated home health agencies to partner with non-government home health agencies, patients will receive crucial services in a timely manner. This type of flexibility can assist these government agencies in fulfilling their missions of providing quality health care to residents.”
