Judiciary Releases Mobile App to Help Litigants Navigate Court System

By Press Release

TRENTON – New Jersey Judiciary has released a free mobile app to help court users, especially self-represented litigants, find court information quickly and easily on their mobile devices.
Litigants can download the app, NJ Courts Help, to find contact information and directions to each county courthouse, as well as the Tax Court, the Appellate Division, and the New Jersey Supreme Court. They also can find legal forms, brochures, state laws and the Rules of Court, which govern the practice and procedures in each of New Jersey’s courts.
The app includes information about language services for litigants with limited English proficiency and the process for requesting court records. It also provides overviews of various case types such as criminal, family, foreclosure, landlord/tenant, and small claims. Court users also will find a listing of court ombudsman in each county and in the Superior Court Clerk’s Office who are available to help litigants navigate the court system.
“Today, more people than ever before rely on mobile devices rather than laptops and PCs to access online information. Court users with limited means may not own a computer,” said Judge Glenn A. Grant, acting administrative director of the courts. “Our mobile applications provides quick and convenient access to court information and resources on an accessible platform.”
The New Jersey Judiciary also has released mobile applications for jurors (NJ Juror), for municipal court users (NJMC) and for attorneys (NJ Attorney). All applications are available free of charge for both Apple and Android mobile devices.
