JIF Coverage Updated

By Vince Conti

AVALON – Paul Miola, chief strategist of the Atlantic and Cape May County Joint Insurance Fund (JIF), spoke of new coverage available to the 41 participating JIF municipalities, at Avalon Borough Council’s work session July 10.
A Tenant Users’ Liability Insurance Policy product would allow individuals and groups seeking to use municipal facilities for events to access event liability insurance online with a credit card.
The system would allow such groups to meet municipal requirements to demonstrate insurance coverage before the events could be approved.
Recent changes in state law have extended the statute of limitations on charges of sexual abuse and molestation. Miola assured council JIF liability coverage in such situations has also been extended to coincide with the new legislation.
