JFK Boulevard To Be Re-Named During Sea Isle City’s 2010 Veterans Day Ceremony

By Press Release

SEA ISLE CITY—On Thursday, November 11, at 11:00 a.m., Sea Isle City’s JFK Boulevard, which greets residents and visitors as they enter the resort from the west, will be officially re-named “JFK-Veterans Boulevard.” The re-naming will coincide with Sea Isle’s Annual Veterans Day Ceremony, during which Mayor Leonard Desiderio and members of City Council will also dedicate the town’s recently-renovated Veterans Park.
For some time, Mayor Desiderio has been working with various veterans groups to find new ways to honor our nation’s vets. In addition to the recent substantial improvements at Veterans Park, located at JFK Boulevard and Landis Avenue, the mayor and other City representatives agreed that adding “Veterans Boulevard” to JFK Boulevard was another way to say “thank you” to the men and women who have served in our armed forces. This is an appropriate action for a community that has a long history of hosting Veterans Day, Memorial Day and Patriot Day services. It also complements Sea Isle City’s ongoing efforts to support veterans, including a “Tri-For Our Veterans” Triathlon held each Memorial Day weekend.
