Cape May County Park North

By Camille Sailer

PETERSBURG – Municipal Engineer Paul Dietrich reported to Upper Township Committee, at its Jan. 23 meeting, that he is working with the county on updating the County Park Master Plan.
Upper is fortunate to have one of only three county parks – Cameron Wildlife Sanctuary, also known as Cape May County Park North – located within its boundaries, on Route 9, in Palermo.
All recognize the park is a gem of its kind, with water features, beautiful foliage, interesting wildlife, and a sense of serenity.
The goal of the update is to survey residents for their input into what additional features, improvements, and amenities might be included at the park, such as an upgrade in restrooms or a connection to Ocean City’s rail-to-trail path.
