Hudanich to Succeed Matthies as Tech School District Super

By Al Campbell

CREST HAVEN — Effective July 1, Dr. Nancy Hudanich, of Avalon, will be superintendent of Cape May County Technical School District. She will succeed Robert W. Matthies, who has held the superintendent’s post since January 2008, who is rounding out 18 years with the district, all in administration posts.
Hudanich, who will become the district’s sixth superintendent, is also president of Avalon Borough Council, but she is not expected to retain that title after July 2 when the municipal governing body reorganizes.
Hudanich has been the district’s assistant superintendent since 2006. Prior to then, she served in the Middle Township School District.
According to a release, Hudanich “was the unanimous choice of the (Technical District) Board of Education to assume the district leader position.”
Board President Robert L. Boyd cited Hudanich’s professional qualification, experience and knowledge of the district, “We are fortunate that we have acres of diamonds right in our district and Dr. Hudanich’s many facets will ensure our continuing success to meet the mission of our district, enhance and strengthen opportunities to our students, and continue the educational prominence our schools have earned while best serving Cape May County.”
