How High’s the Bulkhead?

PETERSBURG – Following up on its promise to organize a town-hall meeting for Strathmere residents on the issue of bulkhead height, Upper Township Committee announced June 11 that the initiative would take place June 30 at 9 a.m. at the Strathmere firehouse.
Whether to change the required height of bulkheads and where has elicited debate in recent weeks as a result of a study the township conducted to generate reliable facts on the issue. Township Engineer Paul Dietrich said he had posted relevant color-coded maps on the municipal website to inform residents in advance of the meeting.
“We are seeking as much input from Strathmere as possible. And since several committee members are planning to attend, we also are notifying all affected property owners by letter about the meeting,” said Mayor Richard Palombo.
