CREST HAVEN – Freeholders reappointed Alan I. Gould and Kerry Higgs as members of the Board of Education of Cape May County Technical School District during the Oct. 27 meeting.
Gould, of Wildwood Crest, and Higgs, of Rio Grande will serve new four-year terms that will expire Nov. 1, 2019. That is the date when the district holds its annual reorganization meeting.
The board reconfirmed, with a resolution, the appointment of Kevin Lare as county purchasing agent originally made Oct. 13.
In other action:
- Board made application in amount of $75,000 to the state Department of Law and Public Safety Division of Criminal Justice for body cameras for the County Prosecutor’s Office for 10 local law enforcement agencies. The money would come from state Forfeiture Funds.
- Approved a professional services agreement with Harry Wozunk, Mike Eck, and James Sampson for CBRNE (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosives) responders for Hazardous Materials Program, effective from Aug. 1 to Dec. 31, 2015, $25 per hour with three hour minimum, not to exceed $6,000.
- Awarded contracts for uniforms for Sheriff’s Department and Corrections, Public Safety Training Center and Prosecutor’s Office to United Uniforms LLC of Rio Grande and Action Uniform Co. LLC of Egg Harbor Township. According to Kevin Lare, the new contracts call for replacement uniforms, when paid by individuals, to be the same price as that charged to the county on initial issuance.
- Approved donation of Motorola MagOne VHF radios to Middle Township at no cost. Deemed county surplus the radios “will greatly assist the Township of Middle,” according to the resolution.

- Rejected all bids for a modular building that will house the county’s spay and neuter clinic by the Animal Shelter because the bids exceeded the budget.
