Freeholders Announce Winners of the 2012 Earth Day Logo Contest

COURT HOUSE – Freeholder Vice-Director M. Susan Sheppard and the Board of Chosen Freeholders announced the winners of the Cape May County 2012 Earth Day Logo Contest at the Freeholder Meeting held on Tue., March 27, 2012.
The contest, sponsored by the county, is held annually to draw attention to county’s Earth Day Celebration. This year’s theme is “Set the Scene, Go Green”.
The following winners were selected from the more than two hundred and fifty entries received from Cape May County students.
The first place winning drawing will appear on the 2012 Earth Day T-Shirt. Additionally, the first place winner receives $75; second and third place winners receive $50 and all winners receive a plaque of recognition and a county goodie bag.
The Cape May County Earth Day Celebration will take place at the Cape May County Park and Zoo on Sat., April 21, 2012. The day begins at 8:30 a.m. with a 1 Mile Fun Run followed by a 5K Race at 9 a.m. and the Earth Day Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Fair will be a fun-filled day of activities including live music, Interactive Drum Circle, educational exhibits, environmental magic show, crafts and a food court.
