CREST HAVEN – Freeholders approved a change order with Settembrino Architects for change in the scope of work on the main library building, Mechanic Street at the Dec. 27 meeting. According to the resolution the firm was awarded a $52,985 contract June 11, 2013.
Project modifications increased the work and project budget. The change order was for $67,485.
Another architectural firm, Design Collaborative Architects and Planners received an additional $1,510 contract for professional services in connection with the renovation of Upper Township Senior Center.
In other action the board:
• Passed a resolution commemorating the 350th anniversary of the State of New Jersey.
• Awarded a contract to Pro-Spec Painting, Inc. of Vineland, a $28,921 contract to “furnish, prepare and apply urethane primer, adhesive, vapor black coating at the County Park Zoo. Ponds to be recoated include the North American otter, bear and alligator exhibits.
• Established a new per diem rate for employees who must travel overnight on official county business: $7 breakfast, $10, lunch, $23.50 dinner.
• Added names of Walter Belles and Peter Stafford as fire instructors for Department of Fire Marshal.
• Renewed and increased subcontracts with New Hope Foundation, $68,912 and Maryville, Inc. $49,361 short term residential treatment services, and for sub acute detoxification services, and Hendricks House, $9,612, for halfway house services.
• Reappointed Betty Jean Webersinn as member of Board of Social Services for five years expiring Dec. 31, 2018.
• Appointed Sara Maloney as member of Human Services Advisory Council for a term expiring Dec. 31, 2016. She was also appointed to the Atlantic Cape May Workforce Investment Board for a term expiring June 30, 2014.
• Appointed members to the Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council for the year. Elaine Bono, Mary Donegan, Marie Giansante, Sabrina Hand, Bonnie Mangle, Susan Raff, Lee Shupert, Maryann Thomas, William Thomas and Rita Voli. Freeholder Kristine Gabor is an ex-officio member.
• Renewed subcontracts with Cape Counseling Services, Inc. for family adolescent alcohol program, $167,636 through Dec. 31, 2014. Also an adult intensive outpatient-residential liaison screener program for $242547 through Dec. 31, 2014. Both were the third of a five-year contract.
• Awarded a $322,494 contract to Routematch Software, Inc. of Atlanta, Ga. to provide support, maintenance, upgrades and updates for Fare Free Transportation. The contract calls for $169,238 for a period of seven years.
• Approved a $65,000 contract with Hatch Mott MacDonald for engineering and license site remediation services for Building 12 at the County Airport.
• Approved contract for $59,100 with Tetra Tech for professional services and license site remediation for “remedial investigation of the entire Cape May County Airport on or before May 7, 2014 for all discharges that occurred on or before May 7, 1999, which is the case at the Cape May County Airport.”
Cape May – Governor Murphy says he doesn't know anything about the drones and doesn't know what they are doing but he does know that they are not dangerous. Does anyone feel better now?
