STONE HARBOR – With many local businesses relying on strategies for curbside pick-up and customer takeout, Stone Harbor Council April 21 voted to postpone turning on parking meters, originally scheduled for May 1.
Instead, the meters will remain off until May 20.  The decision will be reviewed for a possible extension at the scheduled May 19 meeting.
“We need to wait for some sense of certainty, with respect to a return to economic activity,” Mayor Judith Davies-Dunhour said.
Council members supported the move and indicated a willingness to extend the free parking period past May 20 if circumstances warrant it.
