CAPE MAY — The fourth annual UAS Conference will take place at Cape May Convention Hall Sept. 24-25.
The event is co-hosted by Cape May County and the county Chamber of Commerce. Speakers and attendees – including UAS-related companies, innovators, governmental officials and academics – will travel here from around the country for the event.
Speakers and panels will address topics such as recent UAS legislation and policy-making; Coast Guard uses of UAS; use of UAS in the energy, utilities and entertainment industries; the UAS workforce; Counter-UAS; funding for UAS companies; and airspace management.
Multiple innovators who are already doing drone-related work in Cape May also will describe their work.
This year’s conference gives special thanks to U.S. Rep. Frank LoBiondo (R-2nd), who is retiring after 24 years of serving NJ District 2 in Congress. County leaders attribute much of the success of the County’s UAS Program – which is recognized as a national leader – to the Congressman’s encouragement and support.
On Sept, 25, conference participants and others will attend a special luncheon in the congressman’s honor, to be held at Naval Air Station Wildwood at Cape May County Airport beginning at 11:30 a.m.
The airport is the site of construction for a “Tech Village,” at which numerous UAS-related and tech companies are expected to settle.
