SEA ISLE CITY – This municipality’s City Council met Dec. 11 and during public comment heard 26-year resident, Tom Maguire suggest improvements to how the city displays the American flag.
“I’ve been reading the Herald, and there’s someone who’s mean-mouthing commenting every week that Sea Isle is not displaying the American flag properly. I guess the person is referring to the three flags outside this building where the two on the sides are lower than the middle one.
“As I’ve been saying for a while, why don’t we have one American flag and then also display a flag for fallen police and firefighters? Each year, more of these brave people who protect us are dying in the line of duty, and we should recognize this.”
Council President Jack Gibson replied that city administration is looking into Maguire’s recommendation which he makes periodically during these public comment opportunities.
