Fingerprints Get Alleged Burglar Busted

STONE HARBOR — On Aug. 21, police charged Matthew Barksdale, 19, of West Chester, Pa. and Avalon, with Burglary and Theft following an investigation involving a burglary June 5, 2008 of a residence where a large flat panel television, valued at $1,400, was stolen.
Stone Harbor Detectives responded and recovered fingerprints from the scene.
Fingerprints were later submitted to state police Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) unit and recently returned a “hit” for Matthew Barksdale, who was charged with Third Degree Burglary and Third Degree Theft.
Case is pending review by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office.
