Wildwood Logo

By Rachel Rogish

WILDWOOD ─ Presented on second reading April 25, city commissioners passed the long-awaited taxi-cab ordinance that creates an island-wide standard. There will be maximum 25 taxicabs licensed to operate island-wide (including North Wildwood, Wildwood Crest, and West Wildwood). An individual may not have more than three licenses. A Wildwood license number must be displayed in “three-inch letters on the rear of each vehicle” along with a city-issued plate. Registration certificates must be “plainly” visible for “easy and prompt identification,” according to the ordinance.
