COURT HOUSE – Middle Township Committee had a crowded room June 4 as residents along with present and former township baseball players turned out to honor Chuck and Frank Dougherty, long-time township coaches. The resolution noted that “Chuck and Frank Dougherty have coached Middle Township High School baseball and softball for more than four decades.”
The resolution concluded by stating “Field No. 1 at the Goshen Complex shall now be known as Dougherty Field.”
Middle Township School District Superintendent David Salvo praised the brothers for their dedication and establishing a “culture of pride” that goes beyond wins and losses.
“We are overwhelmed,” said Chuck Dougherty.
