By Herald Staff

CAPE MAY — The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will present an informational meeting for City of Cape May property owners on Sat., June 15, at 10 a.m. in Cape May Convention Hall, 714 Beach Ave.
The program will commence with qualified FEMA specialists highlighting updated news regarding specific topical issues, including the process and content of impending new FEMA Flood Maps; the new National Flood Insurance Program and Community Rating System rules; and the status of historic structures in the National Flood Insurance Program.
Major emphasis will be focused on the projected impacts of the new FEMA Flood Maps and regulations upon flood insurance availability and significant premium increases. There will be adequate time for each speaker to interact with the audience members in a question and answer format following each topical presentation.
At noon, the FEMA specialists will be available to meet individually with audience members to discuss individual concepts and properties. This individualized session will last until all members of the public have had an opportunity to discuss their concerns. It is anticipated that there will be at least five FEMA specialists in attendance so that all topical areas of concern can be addressed with the general public.
The city will suspend the enforcement of parking meter regulations on streets in the vicinity of Convention Hall until 2 p.m. on this day.
