CREST HAVEN — County library architectural work in Sea Isle City meant more work for Garrison Architects.
Freeholders on July 14 unanimously approved a resolution adding to the amount that the Bala Cynwyd, Pa. firm will get.
In a May 13 letter from Architect Robert N. Garrison to County Engineer Dale Foster, concerning the Sea Isle City library, Garrison wrote, “I am…requesting that our Aug. 23, 2007 contract with the county be amended. The size of the library has been increased to accommodate the county’s request that the building have a geothermal HVAC system. Since the contract documents were 50 percent complete, this request changes the entire design of the HVAC system as well as additional architectural, structural and electrical changes.”
He requested $125,000 be added to their fee.
In Resolution 521-09, freeholders approved a modification in that amount “to address the increase in the scope of the work.”
In Resolution 804-07, freeholders granted Garrison a “not to exceed maximum ceiling price of $565,800 for design work in the two resort libraries.”
