Expedite Hereford Beacon

North Wildwood Logo

By Rachel Rogish

NORTH WILDWOOD − According to North Wildwood City Clerk Scott Jett, the rotating beacon for the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse will be “expedited” by the Coast Guard. Jett informed City Council June 19 that he recently spoke with a Coast Guard official who assured him that the new beacon would be installed sooner than the usual eight- to 12-week period. The temporary beacon does not rotate. The former beacon suffered a malfunction and will be replaced since the lighthouse is a navigational guide.
