CREST HAVEN – Freeholders appointed Lewis M. Ostrander coordinator of the Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) for Cape May County by a resolution Feb. 13. His term ends Dec. 31, 2018.
The team is under the jurisdiction of the county Office of Emergency Management.
In a similar resolution the board appointed or reappointed members of the county Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and high-yield Explosives (CBRNE)/Hazardous Material (Hazmat) Task Force.
Team leader/coordinator is Anthony Robinson.

In other action the board:
* Accepted a Social Services Homeless grant from the state Department of Human Services for $268,608 “for the purpose of providing programs and services to the homeless.”
* Authorized purchase from Best Enterprises LLC for a Commander 3400 mobile surveillance trailer for the County Prosecutor’s Office, funded by a grant from Homeland Security for $56,896. It allows video surveillance from a distant point by using an elevated camera.
West Cape May – Blaming DEI for the California wildfires is classic Trumper behavior – making an assertion with no facts or real analysis with more than a whiff of racism. But I guess they would rather do that than…
