DENNISVILLE – Dennis Township Committee approved a resolution Oct. 24 authorizing the appointment of Nicolas Elisano to fill a vacancy on the governing body. He was sworn in at the same session.
The vacancy resulted from the resignation of Committee member Melanie Smith. She is moving to Florida to accompany her husband, a retired Avalon police officer, who transferred for a position.
Smith was elected to the Township Committee in November 2016.
Mayor Zeth Matalucci commented about Elisano, “Nicolas is a family man who has deep roots in the township, living at the same local address for over 40 years.”
Elisano attended Dennis Township School, has two children, and is “very active in the community,” Matalucci said.
According to Elisano’s biography, he is a businessperson who also volunteers as a coach at the Dennis Recreation Center.
